FALL PREPARATIONS 2025
Hi Folks,
INFLUENZA:
It’s that time of the year again when all our friendly scary little ones must get their Flu shots. Our vaccines are in. We encourage special needs children to plan for their shots ASAP. Everyone else can come to our Vaccine Clinic scheduled for 11/1/25 at 10:30-2:00 pm. I am dedicating this years Vaccine Clinic to my late father, Roland Sr. (10/18/29-9/21/25), who devoted his life to our family and made sure we got our vaccines. We have had several very engaging monthly conversations on vaccines and will continue these discussions as long as our patients desire them. Our next talk will be 11/1/25 at 4:00 pm, immediately following the Vaccine Clinic. We hope to see many of you there. Please see the enclosed flyer.
We have both a bivalent vaccine (Fluarix) which prevents disease caused by Influenza subtypes A and B, and a quadrivalent vaccine (Fluzone) which prevents disease caused by several Influenza subtypes A (H1N1, H3N2 and influenza subtype B (Victoria lineage). Fluarix and Fluzone vaccines can be given to individuals with egg allergies except those who have SEVERE REACTIONS LIKE ANAPHYLAXIS to eggs. Otherwise, they are safe for persons 6 months and older and were not obtained from human cell lines.
COVID:
As previous we will order COVID 19 vaccines for infants and children 6 mos to 4 years, but only AT YOUR REQUESTS.
We are compiling a list to order these in bulk and will contact those people on our list for their vaccines. Pfizer recommends 3 doses initially separated by 3-8 weeks, then 8 weeks. Moderna recommends 2 doses initially separated by 4-8 weeks, then 8 weeks. Please let us know if you’re interested in these vaccinations.
RSV:
Little has changed regarding this vaccine as well. The RSV vaccine (Nirsevimabalip) is recommended for all infants 0-8 months during RSV season. The dose is weight dependent. Those less than 5 kg (11 lbs) will receive 50 mg IM x 1 dose. Those 5 kg (11 lbs) or more will receive 100 mg IM x 1 dose. This dose will last for the duration of RSV season and will not require a second dose. Kids who are at high risk for RSV infection complications can qualify for this vaccine if between 8-19 months. If you are interested in this vaccine, please check with your insurance carrier as these vaccines are very expensive (~$500.00) then let us know.
As always, thank you for your cooperation.

FAQs
Some of my most commonly asked questions are now easily accessible for your viewing pleasure.
Hobbies
I have frequently been asked if I did anything other then work. The answer is yes. I like the Arts. My favorite art forms are the visual arts and poetry. I have enclosed two for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure). And no, I will not quit my day job!!! For our Annual Halloween/Flu clinic I write poems denoting the main theme for that year.
